The dhow moors at a secluded spot, where you will savour a delightful Tamarind seafood platter or a prime Kenyan fillet steak, followed by a refreshing tropical fruit salad and rounded off with Kenyan coffee and halwa. The cruise returns to the jetty by 3 PM, leaving you with unforgettable memories.

Sail on an Authentic Jahazi

Our dhows, Nawalilkher and Babulkher, are authentic, ocean-worthy jahazis—traditional Arab sailing boats that once traded along Kenya’s coast. Beautifully refurbished, they now serve as floating restaurants, offering both day and evening cruises from Mombasa’s Tamarind Jetty. Private charters can be arranged for an exclusive Sunday experience.

Nawalilkher seats up to 70 guests and is perfect for intimate gatherings or dancing under the stars with night cocktails, while Babulkher can host up to 55 people for dinner or 70 for cocktail parties. Both dhows are available for private events, making them ideal for cocktail parties, special occasions, or corporate events.

Practical Information
This all-inclusive tour covers transportation to and from your hotel, full snorkelling equipment, marine park fees (KWS), and the services of professional dive and snorkelling guides. Onboard, enjoy free drinks and snacks, and afterwards, savour a delicious Swahili-style lunch on Wasini Island featuring fresh crab, grilled fish, chicken, or vegetarian options, accompanied by cold soft drinks, wine, and beer.

Terms & Conditions for Dhow Cruises

1. Departure and Return
   The lunchtime cruise departs daily (except Sundays) from the Tamambo Jetty at 1 PM and returns at 3 PM. Evening and private charters can be organized upon request.

2. Reservations & Private Charters
   Nawalilkher is available for private bookings, accommodating up to 70 guests for cocktails or intimate gatherings. Babulkher can host up to 55 guests for dinner and 70 for cocktail parties. Private charters are available on Sundays, subject to availability.

3. Capacity & Events
   Nawalilkher can hold up to 70 people for cocktail parties, with space for dancing during night events. Babulkher can cater to private dinners and cocktail parties with capacities outlined above.

4. Meals & Drinks
   Guests will enjoy a set lunch, including a Tamarind seafood platter or a prime Kenyan fillet steak, followed by a tropical fruit salad and Kenyan coffee with halwa. Special dietary requirements should be communicated in advance.

5. Cancellations & Changes
   Any changes to booking or cancellations must be made in advance. Specific terms regarding cancellations or rescheduling are subject to the cruise provider’s policies.
