Description

Angama Amboseli: A Wilderness Jewel at the Foot of Kilimanjaro

Set in Kimana Sanctuary, Kenya’s first community-owned conservancy, Angama Amboseli offers an intimate safari experience with just 10 luxury suites. The lodge boasts exclusive traversing rights and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering a peaceful retreat amid one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich areas.

Discover Kimana Sanctuary

Kimana Sanctuary, owned by 844 Maasai families, is a haven of diverse habitats and wildlife, including eland, giraffes, zebras, lions, and hundreds of bird species. Elephants, especially the famed Super Tuskers—giants with tusks weighing over 100 pounds—are a highlight, often seen roaming near the lodge.

Amboseli National Park

Just 45 minutes from the lodge, Amboseli National Park offers a half- or full-day adventure, where guests can see large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, hippos, and flamingos. The park’s diverse landscapes, including savanna, wetlands, and woodlands, are ideal for wildlife viewing.

Conservation Corridor

Angama Amboseli lies at a critical migratory path connecting Amboseli with the Chyulu Hills and Tsavo West. This 85-meter-wide corridor, supported by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, exemplifies human-wildlife coexistence, offering guests a unique insight into modern conservation challenges.

Luxury Suites & Guest Areas

The lodge’s suites blend canvas, stone, and rattan, with uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro from nearly every corner. The main guest area features flexible indoor-outdoor dining, a cozy baraza for fireside chats, and access to studios with a Safari Shop, Art Gallery, and Photographic Studio.

Wildlife Viewing & Relaxation

The Mnara Viewing Tower offers 360-degree vistas of elephants and other wildlife. Guests can cool off in the rim-flow pool while watching elephants drink from a nearby trough, or enjoy morning “Pyjama Safaris” and guided night drives through the sanctuary.

Angama Amboseli is the perfect blend of luxury, wildlife, and cultural immersion, making it an ideal African safari destination.
