Hemingways Eden

Hemingways Eden Residence is a charming boutique residence and private gallery nestled in the leafy suburbs of Karen, Langata, bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary forest. Originally built in 1992 by artists Tonio and Anna Trzebinski as a family home, the residence was later converted into a gallery and accommodation. Now managed by Hemingways Collection since 2022, the residence offers a blend of Kenyan hospitality and luxury international standards.

The property consists of Nine Rooms:

• Main House: Three rooms, an open-plan dining area, bar, living room with a fireplace, and veranda, along with a divinity room.
• Studio Annex: Three standalone studio lofts with bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, and two other rooms located above an open-plan living room with a fireplace, bar, and dining area.
• Artist in Residence Cottage: An additional unique space with its own character.

Surrounded by nature, guests can experience the sounds of hyenas and bush babies from the neighboring 100-acre indigenous forest that houses over 200 bird species.

Culturally immersive, the residence is close to major Nairobi attractions such as the Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Karen Blixen Museum, and the Giraffe Centre. It also offers proximity to some of Nairobi’s best restaurants, shops, and art studios.

Climate & Weather

Nairobi enjoys a temperate climate year-round due to its hilltop location, 1700m above sea level. With low humidity, the summers are warm and pleasant, while winters are mild. The wettest months are April and May during the monsoon season, characterized by cloudy days and moderate rainfall.
